Eight weeks after Christmas, I noticed a nativity scene sitting on the front porch of a neighbor’s house. Yes, eight weeks after Christmas. I would have given them a pass had it been only eight days. But eight weeks? At least they had enough motivation to move it from the yard to the porch.
Even though I was judging my neighbors for keeping a nativity scene up two months after Christmas, I thought that celebrating Christ’s incarnation shouldn’t be limited to once a year. For the incarnation is a cornerstone doctrine of the Christian faith. Let’s look at two words before discussing life at conception.
